Hi
If you know when they married have you sent for their marriage certificate?. This at least will give you their fathers names. Which is a good start!
Where were they born?
cheers cardiff ;)

Like Cardiff says you're best off ordering the birth certificates for the parent's names

The GRO references are:

Herbert Wilcok - 1907 Q1 Hawarden,11b 204
Dorothy Stanley - 109 Q4 Chester,8a 367

The reference for the marriage certificate is

1929 Q4 Hawarden,11b 416

Hello there. Yes thank you both for that but the reason I asked on here is because many of you seem to hold old records and things on CD and I just thought that this was the idea of the Forums, to share information without having to go to the expense all the time of buying certificates.

I also hoped that maybe someone distantly related might see the post and offer first hand information.

Not to worry, I shall have to buy more certificates when funds allow.

Thanks again.

Hiya

Many of us do but they tend to only run until the mid 1800's. You can get an idea of what Parish Registers are avaliable by having a look on the clywd family history list of transcriptions avaliable:

http://www.clwydfhs.org.uk/registers/index.html

Knowing what parish they were born in helps if someone is going to the record office and can do a look up for you.

Sorry I couldn't have helped further.
