Hi,

I am related to the Bloomfields/ Blomfields of Suffolk and have gone back as far as 1500-1600ish (Mendlesham area)- I am looking for any further info and can share what I have.

I stumbled across the names below on the internet but the email address attached to it is no longer valid - if anyone knows where this info comes from it would be appreciated - it does not link directly into my yet but if I could source it and find some further info about it it may prove valuable to me.....

(I am not even quite sure how to translate this!)

I too am descended from the Suffolk Blomfields.  I have extensive records on them from the books by Reginald Blomfield and EV Blomfield, as well as my own research.  I have Ancestry.com and GenesReunited trees that I can share with you.  My lineage is through Thomas Valentine Blomfield, who went to Australia in ~1820.  He is descended from Robert Blomvyle (~1470-1540) of Stonham Parva, via the house of Mowness in Stonham Aspal.  I believe that Gilbert Blomefield (~1500-1544), who started the Mendlesham branch was his grand-nephew (through his cousin Thomas).  I would be particularly interested to see if you have linked Isaac of Ousden (and Bishop CJ Blomfield) to this family.

PS - I did have a Gilbert Blomfield on my tree at one point but as that line got all confusing I took him off for the moment til I could sort out who went where!

My John Blomfield 1537 (from IGI) could be the son of Gilbert and Alice but the records (IGI) say 1532 for the birth of thier John - IGI dates are incorrect in some places when compared to other records!

And I am related to Bloomfield/Blomfield of Rushmere, Playford  and Foxhall, however I am stuck in the year 1760 with Daniel Blomfield of the said Playford.
