Can you please read this
« on: Thursday 17 February 05 21:55 GMT (UK) »
I know it says St. Barnabus, Openshaw, Manchester 11.
It says Rector at the bottom right.

Can anyone please read the rest of it?
Thanks

Church of England clergy are listed in a reference book called Crockfords, which was published for many years (I'm not sure it still is). If you could find the right edition in a reference library, you could confirm the Rector's full name and more details, such as a brief list of the livings he held.

There is a similar book for the Roman Catholic hierarchy.

Thayer, Theyer, or Taylor?

The first word looks like it could possibly be 'John'

The second word looks like an 'S', followed by an 'a', then (unless its a smudge or crease!) 'p'
There's certainly an 'h' towards the end, then possibly a 'k' followed by an 'a' at the end.

My best guess would be 'Sapruahka'  :(
