SOLOMON Family from England to Melbourne

Hi Everyone, I have hit a brick wall and wondering if anyone can help.  I am looking for any infomation on the descendents for Zodick Solomon who married Phoebe Lyons (date unknown).

They had a son Joel who married Rebecca Marks 28 Jan 1857 in a melbourne synagogue.

From what I can find they had 12 children

Edward       1867 - ?

Annie         1873 - 1874
Clara         1875-1875

I believe all were born in melbourne.

Henry moved to SA... Unsure of the reason....

Henry (Harry) is my DH GGrandfather.

Any help given would be greatly appreciated.

a search of this website will show you the Wills of both JOEL and REBECCA Solomon.

He was a pawnbroker of Latrobe Street Melbourne.
He left all his estate to his wife when he died in 1904

REBECCA entrusted EDWARD with the distribution of her estate with particular attention to her daughters.  She died 1910.

If I understand you correctly, you are saying you know the WIlls are there, but have not read them.

You do not need to leave home to do this.  The documents are online.

Click the  'more info next to the name>down to the file numbers at bottom of the grid of info that comes up>click on a file number>you may then see 'view this file'. IF this option is not offered, go back to the grid and click on the next file number.
Usually one of them will offer you an option to view.

This website has information on the cremations of  Julia and Lewis SOLOMON.

For many years after the death of the parents, a notice appears annually in the ARGUS In Memorium section comemorating them.  From about 1917 onwards I think.
