Robyn, you are a true Gem.  Thankyou for the assistance you have given me.  I will get onto it tonight.  I think I will be purchasing a few certificated.

thanks again
Kim

No need to order certs in Victoria.  It is considerably cheaper to purchase an image for $17.50 and immediately download.

yes sue, she did die young.  She died as a result of childbirth, Henry Joel was only 15 days old.  This was as far back as my FIL knew until I started researching for him.  We have Fanny May's original headstone.  And henry's grave was ?moved when they built the crememtorium in Adelaide, but there is no records where it ?moved to.

I found lots of interesting links at the newspaper site.  Thankyou.  Being relatively new to researching family history.  I had no idea of that site.  You have spent so much time helping me out with this research.  You are great.

Kim :)

I am wondering which crematorium you are referring to.  Where was Henry buried in 1946?

Hi Cando and All,
I too, am interested in knowing where the burial took place and how you "have" the original headstone for Fanny May.

Your Solomon's are leading us on a good run! ;D

There is a photo of a headstone for  Henry SOLOMON who died in 1946 in the West Terrace Cemetery.

SOLOMON  Henry  1946  85 years  Son of Joel
Photo 7177   File  8

You can email and ask for a photo.  This is kindly provided by Kym :)

Scroll down the page and you will see the email link.

If Henry's headstone has been removed since the photo was taken, perhaps the lease on his grave expired.  I have found similar things have happened to some of my relatives graves but fortunately the cemetery trustees had at least photographed the graves before the headstones were 'recycled' for landscaping materials.

Hi Cando and Sue - Henry's headstone.  I found a person listed to do Look ups for West Terrace, and he is the one that gave me that information, when I asked if he could photograph it for me.  I had given him the row/plot detals etc.  I can't remember his name off the top of my head, will have to go back through my notes.

And with Fanny May she originally had a very small headstone, my my DH's Uncle visited Murray Bridge Years ago now, he found the headstone had some damage to it.  He replaced it with a larger one.  When he sold his property in vic he passed the headstone onto his brother my FIL.

I have learnt so much with the help of you all.  Some of these things I have started but was unaware how much info you can get if you just click the right buttons.

Hi

For your interest as you say you did not have it, here is a probable marriage for Phoebe and Zodic.
It is a submitted entry so treat with a little caution.

Zadock Solomons married Phebe Lyons on 9/12//1829 at The Grreat Synagogue in London, England.

Re Henry's grave.  May I suggest that you email the person on the linked website - and do mention the photo and file numbers - they will email you the photo of Henry's grave. Perhaps the person who offered lookups at the WTC missed Henry's grave.

Cheers
