Levi Williams/Jessie Williams Obits - Brandon Manitoba

Hello,

Levi Williams was in the Brandon, Manitoba area from at least 1901 (when married - he was from London, Manitoba).
I have his death date of 28 Apr 1950 and burial at Brandon Cem. from Manitoba sources.

His wife, Jessie Catherine (McLellan) Williams died 2 Jun 1964 and was buried with him.  She was from Nova Scotia and I also have found her in Brandon from 1901 (pre marriage in late 91).

It would be very nice to get obits for one or both.

They had 4 sons born between 1902 and 1907, and I am hopeful an obit will give me some additional details about where these men were in later years:

Rhys Harold Williams 1902
Osborne Duncan Williams 1904
Howell Davis Williams 1906
James Russell Williams 1907

I have tentative info that Osborne Duncan died in 1963.

Nick, you mentioned Osborne.  Are you aware that he crossed the border in 1925, arriving in Sumas, Washington?

There is a death index for Osborne D Williams; mother's maiden name was McClella.  He died 7-July-1963, in Sacramento, California.

The border crossing info is new and welcomed, and the Death Index find verifies my previous  conjecture from SSDI info.  I will go copy Calif. Death Index for my database.

The PM actually refers to some of Osborne's grandchildren.

Making note, 3 sons born in Gretna...( don't see Rhys)  Nick do you mean Levi was born London Ontario?
Yes, I see that it is on the cemetery death, London, Ontario...all this information helps with the lookup...

Rhys's birthdate deduced from 1911 census.  Transcriber has it 18 Mar 1902, but I read it 18 Nov 1902.

I have also given him the old Welsh spelling altho I have also seen this name spelled Rees, etc.  The 2 censuses.  The family was very difficult to find on census, and the boys' names were destroyed almost beyond recognition (e.g. "Ruas" was transcription for Rhys).  When I entered a correction they screwed up the birth dates making the middle 2 twins...

Yes, I saw the bad census transcription...They are volunteers, though, so we mustn't complain too much...
Good job the parents did of using full names for the census...I imagine you have the info from vital stats, but am posting url anyway...( the three births & marriage 1901)
