1841/51 look up please
« on: Saturday 19 February 05 11:47 GMT (UK) »
I would really appreciate a look up in the 1841/51 censuses.

I need help in finding the Blackburns (Blackbourn) and Patchetts (Paget, Padget and numerous other spellings).

1. Matthew and Mary Patchett , ages approx 38 and 32 (in 1841). He was born in Southwell, Notts and she was born in North Collingham, Notts. They were living in Bassingham, Lincs on the 1871 census.

2. Thomas and Elizabeth Blackburn ( Mary's parents), ages approx 60's (in 1841). Don't know where they were born. Elizabeth may be a widow by 1841.

A kind fellow rootschatter has found no sign of any of them on the 1841 Notts census so I'm hoping they had already moved over the border into Lincs.

If not, this could well be the first recorded instance of a black hole opening up over the Notts/Lincs border in the nineteenth century!!

Jill.  ;)
HELP!!!

 BATHSHEBA BOOTHROYD bn c. 1802 W. Yorks.

Baptism nowhere to be found. Possibly in a nonconformist church near ALMONDBURY or HUDDERSFIELD.

Jill

I have found Matthew and Mary living with Thomas and Elizabeth at Bassingham in 1841.

If you send me a private message with your e-mail address, I can send you the census page.

For anyone looking at this the original request was posted in 2005.  It may be worth waiting to see if the information requested has been found.

I only posted as you know what we are like on here and I would hate someone to spend ages looking for more information for jillruss and then find she already had it.   :)
