Hi All,

Thanks for locating Thomas's family! He's an elusive character isnt he? At least though, he's only missing from the 1861 census now, a complete misspelling of his surname may be to blame,

Thanks again

Sue

PS, Thomas,s wife, Margaret, died in 1882, so yes, that is probably him in 1891 remarrying,

Hi Sue (great name by the way).

Thomas Salmon and Margaret Salmon (nee Swinburne) are my great, great, great grandparents, and my own grandmother's great grandparents (she - BTW, is 96 and still going strong).

Interested to learn from the above that Thomas possibly remarried after Margaret died in 1882? Did you end up finding out any more about that?

Also wondering where Jane fits in. We only know of Thomas's children with Margaret: Thomas (Jr), Robert and George - who was my own grandmother's grandfather.

George (b. ~1868) went on to marry Elizabeth Ann Moore; George and Elizabeth then had a son, Fred Salmon, who was my grandmother's father. He, however, died when he was only 29 and she was only tiny (was sitting on his knee when he collapsed), so she doesn't really know anything at all about the Salmon side of her family (Elizabeth - her grandmother, died before my grandmother was born and George - her grandfather, < 1 year after Fred died  :'()

Also interested to know if you ended up finding out anything else about Thomas prior to the census in 1871?

Hoping you're still reading this!  :)
Sue
