I would be gratefull if you would search your record for the name of Donohue.
My gggf James Donohue was born 1827 in the area.
Regards
Mike

If you are still able to check your records are there any  families by the name of SWORD. As always much appreciated

I obtained a large part of the Kilbride parish tithe applotment records for Clara townland, its about 200 plots of land with occupiers' names.
I would have loved to make copies of the originals but the microfilm copy machine wasn't working so I wrote everything down on paper and will use it like a census for Clara.  Anyone looking for someone in this area, I have their name, property, and quantity of land.

Hi,
such a generous offer and I hope it is still open.  I have 2 surnames to check for Clara  viz McDonald (aka McDonell) and Kinehan
Thanks very much

Charles Molloy lived in "Bogtown, Clara"in 1861 according to a letter he wrote. Not in GV. Any appearance in Tithes?

Very sorry for the delay, I will get all requests right now for Clara town.

There are no entries of "Sword" or variants of the name...

As for McDonald/McDonnell and Kinehan...

There is a William McDaniel on Main St (house and garden)
A Thomas Kingham in Main St w house and yard.
A Roger Kinaghan with a House and Garden on New Street
And another (or same) William McDaniel appears again on Main st with a house.

BC:
There is a "Bernard Molloy and Miss Kelly" on Main street with a house and garden, any relation?

On Cook street appears a larger Molloy family
James Molloy House and garden
Widow Margaret Molloy: House

And just outside the town:
Bernard Molloy, Esq: 6 acres, 1 perch
James Molloy: 4 acres.

It would seem the widow Margaret may be mother of Bernard and James and the Esquire title/lands may have passed to Bernard.  Charles could be a son of any of them

Thanks for that. I suspect now that Bogtown, Clara could be between Tullamore and Clara near Coolnahiley/Coleraine where Charles, or a Charles Molloy, had lands shown in GV in 1854.  Over to you 'Trapp'.

Have you seen the IFHF website? they put up Offaly's records about a year or so ago and I see they have 31 baptismal records for a Charles Molloy.  The only thing is, it's a paysite but it's possible to search by parish.

Tullamore's RC parish has a Charles Molloy b. 1830 and a Charles Molloy b. 1850
