India: Birth of Eric Arthur SAWYER

Can anyone advice me on how to look up a birth in India in 1922.  My adopted sister's grandfather was born in India.  We don't know exactly where.
He may have also been married there.  We don't know when he came to England either.
As you can see we have very little info and so would appreciate any help.

I have sent for the certificate.  I wonder why it took so long to register the birth.  He was born in Dec 1922.

I have been misinformed and the birth I am looking for in India in about 1923 is Eric ALAN Sawyer.  I wonder could someone look this up for me.  I would be most grateful.
