it looks very much like southport promenade to me I have been their a hundred times. The road looks familiar, the boards could be advertising the theater. It isn't Blackpool, wonder if she went on a coach trip :)

Celia    P.s. I have just looked at some old photos of Southport prom 1930. it isn't southport because then there was lots of greenery on the prom

Reminds me of Great Yarmouth - but I've only seen that in mid-winter.
I seem to recall that there were a number of larger buildings on the opposite side of the road to the beach.
But, then I haven't been to many beaches - UK or otherwise.
Oh but that would mean she was facing north with the sea to her right ???

Hi,

I should say more than a possible, Evie.
The buildings on the right look similar, but the smaller white building on the left is the clincher.
That was a quick one!
Well done,

I was just going to post the same message Yorkslass  :D

The small white building second from the left looks exactly the same when you enlarge the photo.  The other buildings also look identical with just a bit of a different angle.
good catch evie.

Hi Erato

I just wanted to say what a lovely photo, I love your Gran's clothes and what marvelous detail we can see of other people's clothes and of the prams in use at the time.  I can't promise to be of any help but I'll certainly be looking out for an other photos you post.   :)
