Major Boswell was b.cir 1774 Bloxham Ox (reputedly according to census - you will find them at Willenhall Stf in 1861) He was married to Lucy Boswell in 1798 at Breedon On The Hill Leic. He later married Mary Linyan.

He also had a son Alfred c.1819 Rauceby Lincs, who married Hannah Herne. Thomas was b.cir 1814 reputedly Oxon, died in 1897 Stoke on Trent. Jane Tanzy/Tansy was b.cir 1814 Frisby Leic and died 1886 Stoke on Trent.

Hi Zingara

According to Bob Dawson's 'The Genealogy of the Romany Boswells' (published by the Romany and Traveller Family History Society 2004, but now out of print), your Major Boswell was baptised 6 August 1780 at Bloxham, Oxfordshire, son of John and Sarah Boswell. Bob also records that Major died at Dresden, Staffordshire in 1870 and is buried at Stone.

Best wishes
