Hi Ros,

I'm not connected to this family at all.

The children of Lucy Gaunt & Oakley Archer (born Victoria)

are:-
Atherstone Oakley Archer born 1892 Malvern died 1979 Ringwood
Mary Archer born 1893 Malvern died 1979 Toor (never married)

The National archives website www.naa.gov.au has references to Both Guy Gaunt and Atherstone Archer.  They are digital records so can be view online.

Cheers

Thanks Genni and Tom,

Tom we are probably related. My 4 x Great Grandmother was Elizabeth Gaunt who married John Moss on the 25th April, 1793 in Alstonfield.  Their daughter Mary also married a John Moss (supposed 1st cousin) in 1820 in Alstonfield and went to Port Phillip (Victoria) Australia in 1837.  In an early survey taken in Victoria Mary is said to be a 1st cousin of Judge W. H. Gaunt.  I have yet to prove these relationships.

Hi Ros

This is the same family that is at Rootsweb, signed Davanport [mine is also in there, signed 'togaco']

I have been trying for some time to find a link with these Gaunts and mine. They originate in the same area of Staffordshire.

I happened to type in 'Gaunt' as a general search one day and found Admiral Ernest Frederick Augustus Gaunt's portrait at the National Portrait Gallery. Started me off on a trail.
Curious thing is,he is the 'spitting image' of my grandfather and also I share some of his looks [so my daughters say]. We definitely share the same 'genepool'.
