Hi All

Very useful links! in the hard to understand subjects on Dioceses and counties of  coverage. The top link! also has the Borthwick institute at the York uni complex in the website -link.

The bottom two  -links- gives Chester Diocese and area covered in Lancashire -Cheshire and Yorkshire also parts of the lake district.

Wills probate /Bishops Transciptions/ Bond by licence marriages and other info held at York Borthwick institute centre and Lichfield holds alot of counties outside Staffordshire (see Lichfield Archives website in Google search for them.)

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
