Tullamore and Birr (aka Parsonstown)  are towns in Co. Offaly (Kings County) about 40km apart.

There are no surviving Irish census records from that time , however there is Griffiths valuation which was carried out in that area in 1854. It lists heads of household only and includes a few 'Acres'  entries for Co. Offaly - including 2 in Birr,

  Samuel Acres, Glebe St, Birr
  Jane Acres, Moorpark Street, Birr

both these streets still exist - google map link : http://www.rootschat.com/links/064v/

the link for Griffiths is : http://griffiths.askaboutireland.ie/gv4/gv_family_search_form.php

Hi Shane,
Thak you for the information.
Also when he arrived in the USA his occupation was shown as a printer which he succeeded in being very successful  all his life, is there any possible clues that might show where he was edducated as a printer.
Its a different occupation and he has a very hard to locate name in Ireland.

the closest Commercial Directory to that timeframe is Slaters of 1846 and it lists no 'Acres' working in Birr

There is a printer listed in Birr town - maybe that's where Standish trained ?

PRINTERS--LETTER-PRESS.
Shields & Son, Cumberland square, Birr

link to the directory pages : http://www.failteromhat.com/slater/0358.pdf
see centre column, toward the bottom

and part one for town is : http://www.failteromhat.com/slater/0357.pdf

Parish records for many counties are available on the Irish Family History Foundation website ( www.irish-roots.ie ) but Offaly is not included at the moment.
