« on: Saturday 25 April 09 09:20 BST (UK) »
A cousin found that Mary ELLSTONE married John RUSSELL 28 Nov 1815 at All Saints, Northampton.

Then recently we found
Burial Mary RUSSELL 34 INFIRMARY 23 Jun 1821 Northampton St. Sepulchre C of E ST GILES fits birth in 1786/7

Can anyone find her birth for me please

Thanks John - my Mary would appear to be of All Saints Northampton and as per death age fits 1786. But I have taken the details of the Yelvertoft families

We have also now found a marriage of an Arthur ELSTON, otp, bachelor to a Martha OBLEY, otp, spinster on 20 February 1782 at Northampton All Saints and one for a Joseph ELSTON, otp, bachelor & a Christiana STANTON, otp, spinster on 30 June 1758 at Northampton All Saints, by licence - perhaps Arthur's father??

Arthur and Martha of 1782 sound likely to be Mary's parents and I wondered if anyone has All Saints baptism for a name like ELSTON or ELSTONE usually spelling seems to be without the double L
Thank you

Joseph ELSTON was an ironmonger, alderman, and in 1763 the Mayor.

Between 1759 and 1776 he bapt 12 children, but no Mary or Arthur.
No mothers name given until 1770 when it was Christiana/Christian.

No Elston baptisms in Northampton after 1776.
Perhaps Mary's family were non-conformist. No early records have survived for many non-conformist churches.

Many Thanks for looking

Oh dear
That does sound like a problem.

The RUSSELL's and Mary ELSTON family do seem to town based so non conformist Arthur ELSTON it might be then.

Seems to be some holdings at
http://www3.northamptonshire.gov.uk/Community/record/non_conformist.htm#N
would they be included in your database

All surviving and available (at NRO) nonconformist birth/baptism are included in the 1751-1812 baptism index.

A compete list of what is included is on the 1751-1812 bapt index page.
Just google 'northants family tree'

Thanks very much for that link
Yes the RO list had a lot of items outside the time frame and the items within time frame are on CD

That is quite a detailed coverage of what is on the CD - good to see such clear info provided

I looked for Wills at National Archives and A2A but nothing

The CD site has an index from 1853/4 - I suppose it is abck to RO?

There is an index to Northants wills up to 1858 at the findmypast website. The originals are at the Northants Record Office.

Thanks again I had no idea FindMyPast had such records - wonderfully indexed as "curiosities"

but also no Arthur or any ELTON variants close to looking like connected to him

I have him penciled in but really need to know if Mary was theirs

Thank you for all the help with them
