Location of Dressilrig or Dressilriy, 1763
« on: Monday 21 February 05 00:30 GMT (UK) »
I'm transcribing a letter from a distant cousin with very bad handwriting - (the letter is from the 1930s). In the letter she is giving some family history details (landholdings in Scotland - Edinburgh area I assume) - but I don't know if she is refering to towns, villages, or family estates. Below is an excerpt of her letter - I know some of the spellings aren't accurate, but maybe someone will recognize the names (or what they should be). The names in question are italicized. Thank you!

Robt. 6th Lord. created Earl Winton. 1600 –

                 with Turnbull
in any connections ^  - it must just be a
part of the then Culder portion as assigned
to Dr. Andrew Anderson as husband of
Magdalene Sandilands – by the way, the
Searcher told me he had heard threw  a  Sandiland
that the Sandilands did not “recognize” that
marriage. never the less the dispisition is

Sorry to use up space - I found that I should have been looking in East Lothian.
