« on: Thursday 07 May 09 15:38 BST (UK) »
Im looking for information re the RGA stationed at seaforth liverpool.  Especially a Gunner Antingham who was married to a Rose Green. The barracks has now gone and with it any history of the regiment.

Very interesting thank you. A little after William Antinghams time .  He died at the Garrison in 1903 after being in the regiment since he was 17. He had travelled to India and various parts of England and died in the arms of his 17 soldier son. Hope to track down his grave, tried on line but need to visit Liverpools archives.

If you have the death certificate it will give the place of death and of the informant, which should give clues about the likely place of burial.  What religion was he?  That would have a bearing as there are local public and RC cemeteries as well as CofE churchyards.  A local newspaper might have an announcement or report of his death.  Crosby library (not in Liverpool but adjacent) are helpful.

Have tried Anfield, Bootle ,litherland ,toxteth ,everton, kirkdale, west derby ,and Allerton.  Including some churches now lost through the war or neglect.  His wife lived in Falconer Street and I used this as a central point.  Did the army have a military
Cemetery?  I tried various religions, his granddaughters were married in
the Wesleyan Chapel, Wilson Street Litherland. Cannot find his wifes  grave either, she died in Falconer Street.
