Well done all.

Ohh Excellent news!

I honestly thought this one would be one of the hardest to sort out due to the family moving around previously.

Lets hope we get such positive news on a lot of the others, its time they were 're-united' with their families even if only on paper.

Hi tharkin56,

Re your Rev Gawthorp - at replies 6 & 7 of this thread we have established that Aime Constant Verpillot arrived in Australia on 17 September 1912 from New Zealand per the SS Maunganui.   EDIT TO ADD disembarking at Sydney

But if your question relates to the emigration from England to NZ, then the year for that event would be 1908.  Sorry, we don't seem to have included the exact dates for that voyage or name of that ship.  If you can help with those details, please share.

11 November 2009, 11:00 hours Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time

I remember my own forebears, and this year I recall those AIF Fromelles missing, especially Aime Constant Verpillot, Swiss born of French parentage who gave up his nationality in Sydney NSW to become a British Subject and thus to complete his AIF enlistment.
