Unregistered births that you cannot find:
« on: Wednesday 13 May 09 05:30 BST (UK) »
Hi,

My local family history newsletter just arrived with the following (Names altered for privacy reasons)

Sandra had been wondering for many years about how to gain access to Church Records of the Christ Church of England in Beechworth.

She finally did some phoning around and found a lovely lady by the name of "ABC" who is the Church Archivist in Beechworth.  "ABC" will search the Church records for several people of the same family name for the fee of ten dollars.

"XYZ" was particularly interested in finding Baptism records for her grandfather who was born in Beechworth in 1865 but was never registered, and bingo, "XYZ received the information within three days.

To make the search more difficult he wasn’t baptised until 1874, but the researcher still found it. "

So it is worth chasing down church records if you are reasonably sure which place, religion and church your missing person  may have been baptised at.

regards
Robyn
