Tones Family
« on: Saturday 16 May 09 20:24 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Iam researching a colleagues family tree, and after having so much support and answers from my previous requests concerning her adoptive and paternal side, I now need help with an aspect of her maternal side!
Her grandfather was a Robert Tones who, at the time of his marriage, on 24th December 1924, was 22 years of age, he was born during the Dec 1/4 of 1910 (Easington district).
His father is given as James Tones, a miner.  James was still living. The family were residing at 10 Farmer Street, Shotton Colliery.
Robert's new wife was Elizabeth Harrison who was 34 years at the time of the marriage. Her father was Andrew Harrison, a miner, deceased.  Because Elizabeth was born in 1898 she is easily found on the 1901 census with her father Andrew and mother Isabella Sarah (nee Tipling)
Witnesses at the marriage were Albert Harrison, Elizabeth's brother, and Isabella Tones, presumably Robert's sister.

What I need to find out is, who was Robert's mother and James's wife? When did they marry? And to trace them on the census returns.

Help!

Thanks
Sue

Robert Tones was baptised in Shotton with Haswell St. Savior 16 Oct 1910 son of James and Adazilla (Ada)

There is a marriage recorded 1910 Sept ¼ Easington 10a 873 of James Tones and Adazillah Coxon (the only Adazillah on the page)

Hi Sue,

A search of the 1911 index would be useful, think they're indexed under JONES, and I think she was married twice, there's a William Coxon Jones aged 12 with Ada and James:
