Susannah Bevan Berriew
« on: Wednesday 28 April 04 21:47 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I have been trying to find out more about Susannah Bevan born 1835-ish in Berriew, Montgomeryshire for quite some time  ::)

I know that she married Edward Sockett from Chirbury, Salop but have yet to find the marriage.

The next information I have is the birth of one of their Children starting in 1866 but by this time they had moved out of the area into Lancashire.

Best Wishes

Sarah :)

Hi Jan,

I was very excited to see your reply, you for sure have the right one !!  :D  ;D

Since I read your message I have been googling, do you think that Loer Bryn could be Lower Bryn ? Am I right in thinking that Bettws is near Abermule.

I would be interested to know of any more Bevans or Sockett families if this is not too much trouble for you. In the 1861 census she should be down as wife of Edward Sockett.

Thank you very, very much Jan you have made my day !

Sarah,

Firstly I am so glad that I have made your day - it's a pleasure!

I have just double-checked the 1851 again to make sure that Loer Bryn wasn't a typing error on my part - it has been transcribed as Loer Bryn so my typing was actually correct!!!!!  I feel sure that it should be Lower Bryn too.  Bettws is near Abermule - you are correct.

I kept a record of all the Bevan/Beavan and Sockett families that I found in 1851 and 1861 just in case you wanted them - there are quite a few!!!!!!! so I will post them a few at a time rather than in one huge message.

I will start with a few tonight and then do the rest over the next couple of nights.

Jan :)
