1901 Address Lookup Please

can anyone do a address look up on the 1901 for The grotto,bushmead,eaton socon,beds i would like to see what families lived there.also is ther anyway to  findout who owned the property.thanks

Not by the Address search (only available from 1901 Census Online)  - but by fluke - it's is on the first image for Eaton Socon District 17 that contains Bushmead, situated between The Priory & a pub called the George ? Arms **

is The Grotto...   RG13/1483; Folio 136, Page 1   occupied by....

Charles Childs, head, age 44 born Dean; Groom
Mary J Childs, wife, age 37, born Little Stukeley, Hunts
Albert A Childs, son, age 11
Charles P Childs, son, age 10
Basil Childs, son, age 8
Elizabeth Childs, daughter, age 7
Ella Childs, daughter, age 6
Horace Childs, son, age 5
Mary V Childs, daughter, age 3

All children born Bushmead except Ella who was born Staploe

Thanks john,thats what i have,was hoping to findout who owned the property,any idea where in staploe ella was born,which House or cottage?wonder why she was born in staploe and the rest up the road at bushmead.
There was a pub,but thats long gone.have no idea what it was called,but  i drive past it quite abit.

Her birth certificate might say exactly where she was born but could just say Staploe. Since all the others were born in Bushmead maybe Mary was visiting someone in Staploe when Ella decided to arrive!

This implies Charles worked for Bushmead Priory, so likely they owned the Grotto as well

Good find Jan;

Kate Caress, Annie Green & Daisy Bull are listed as servants at Bushmead Priory on the 1901 census - next door to The Grotto.... with head of household at The Priory being William H Wade-Gery.

......+ + +  Kate Caress b 1880 is in my family tree, daughter of Samuel Caress & Ann Hilson... whose brother Joseph married into my Partridge lot from Eaton Socon.

Hi Jan and John, i would like to thankyou both for the information.i looked at the website about the photo,i couldnt view it though for some reason.
Charles childs is my husbands great grandfather,his son alberts middle name was augustus,i persume he was called this with the connection to the priory.
my husband and i came to live in staploe a number of years ago,never heard of the place until we moved here.then when i started doing his family tree not long ago, it turned out his ancestors were on our doorstep so to speak,we thought it quite amazing when we discovered his great aunt Ella childs was born in our village.

To view the photo and get a copy you would either have to go to the Bedford and Luton Archives in person or email them with a request quoting the reference number - either way they are fantastically helpful.
