Please help me
« on: Wednesday 23 February 05 03:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

My grandparents are from Ireland.

l only have my mother's birth cert. and my grandparents names  and the death years in England.
John Graham died 1960 age 73 born abt. 1887.
Lilian Fulford died 1968 age 76 born abt. 1892.

l have checked with 1837 for a marriage from 1908-1913 all quarters with no luck , l think they must have married in Ireland, l don't know the county, this is all the infomation l have. My father before his death burnt all family papers, l was just lucky l could remember their death years. l know its not much to go on and know this is a long shot, so any help would be great.
l am researching this from Australia.

regards...tarnee

Hi,

I suggest getting films of the birth and marriage indexes from Ireland at your local Church of the latter day saints family history centre. See my website for more information.

Why would someone feel they had to burn history like that?

Hi Kate,

Thanks for the reply, l am researching this from Australia, which is making it a trifle harder for me. Why my father burnt the papers is beyond me l think its punishment (family stuff) and he thought he had won but l manage to get my mom's birth certificate so thats a start.
