Snibston Grange, Packlington
« on: Friday 22 May 09 12:14 BST (UK) »
A gentleman by the name of HARRY E. ABBEY married an ancestor of mine and I have been following his movements since birth. He moved around the country quite a great deal, working in many fields (no pun intended) as a Cow Boy to ultimately becoming an insurance agent with the Prudential....
As a young man of 20 in 1881 I have found him working as a stable boy for a SOLICITOR, JAMES T. WRIGHT at SNIBSTON GRANGE, PACKINGTON.
Does anyone have any information about that address? Is it still standing etc?
I would be grateful for any information.
Sand  :) :)

Hello

I think this now comes within the Snibston parish. It was a house in the middle of what is now called The Grange by locals, Snibston Grange Nature Reserve by the County Council. It is part of the Snibston Discovery Park now. I'm sure if you got in contact with the Council they could help. It was demolished in around the 1950s I think.
