Lithuania to USA via England
« on: Sunday 24 May 09 22:15 BST (UK) »
Hello,
apologies first- if this is the wrong place to post, please could someone redirect me  :).

I have a friend in USA who has asked me if I know where there may be any records of his ancestor.

The ancestor would have travelled from Lithuania c 1891. My friend has looked in passenger lists e.g. Castle Garden to no avail. He has USA census records.

My friend thinks that the ancestor would have travelled from Bremen to Hull and then Liverpool to USA.

Does anyone have any ideas please?
thanks

You could check passenger list from Liverpool to USA and see if you can pick him up on the possible second leg of his journey - Ancestry has passenger lists to USA.

Thanks very much for  your interest. I'll pass the info to him. I think he now has Ancestry.com whereas I only have UK .

Was his ancestor naturalized?  There are some naturalization records on Ancestry.com and footnote.com, and they may give the ship name and arrival date.
