Help With Initials, Please. Completed.
« on: Friday 29 May 09 14:06 BST (UK) »
Can anyone tell me what the initials stand for in Mildred Fowler's entry in the 1841 census?

I think they are F.L., but someone else will probably have a better idea.

Thanks.

F.S. = Female  servant (often- but not necessarily - on a farm)

If you look on the census page most of the families have a "FS" and some have "M.S." (male servant) too

Mildred's actually boarding with a Merchant, so I suppose "F.S." would equate to a "Domestic".

Thanks, Suzard.
