Hi Minnie,

Where does this come from? Do you have them on any censuses? What was Thomas' occupation?

I can see one Thomas Griffiths on the 1861 census, living at Mainstone Montgomeryshire and born Meifod, but his wife Jane (age 59 born Meifod) is still alive.

Back in 1851, this seems to be them:
HO107/2499 282 10
Main, Montgormeryshire
Glascwm(?)

Thomas Griffiths, head, 50, Shoemaker
Jane, wife, 49
Anne, dau, 12
Griffith, son, 8
William, son, 5

All born Myfod.

If they are the ones, then hopefully we can identify the birth registration for one of the children born after 1837. The birth certificate should show Jane's maiden name. (The registration district would be Llanfyllin)

Tracing them back to 1841, their oldest child was Leah, born ca. 1829 (whose christening shows on the IGI)
 :)

Marriage 23 June 1828 Thomas Griffiths married Jane Griffiths Meifod (both of this parish). Witnesses William Griffiths and Martha Griffiths. This is the only Meifod marriage I can see.
