Indian Army
« on: Wednesday 23 February 05 21:21 GMT (UK) »
My husband's uncle was an officer in the Indian Army, we think at the end of WW1 and into WW2.  We have photos which say that he was in the Punjabis but do not know how to further our research.

Please can anyone help

Many thanks

Ellen

Ellen,

Have you tried searching for him in the online catalogue of the National Archives at:

Hi Ellen,

I posted a couple of indian links here: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,30580.0.html

the first posting: Families In British India Society:  http://www.fibis.org/
sounds the most promising.

If in the "course of your travels" you find any other good links, it would be nice if you could add them to the "Ancestors in India" thread, for other researchers.

Good luck,
Bob
