John Murray born 15-Sep-1829 Kilpipe
« on: Wednesday 03 June 09 14:31 BST (UK) »
Hi there,

I have managed to trace back my husband's family to John Murray who emigrated to South Africa circa 1856 and married Jane Moffat on 11 May 1861.  He died in the Winterberg in the Eastern Cape leaving 7 children.

He was born in Kilpipe on 15/9/1829.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards

Victoria

there's a Catherine Murray listed on Griffiths valuation dated 1854 in the townland of Killacloran, civil parish of Kilpipe, Co. Wicklow.

see this link : http://www.rootschat.com/links/06fs/

she seems to be jointly listed on about 44 acres of land with a Jeremiah Toole, and sub-lets a house to a James Kavanagh. You can see the details on the askaboutireland.com link above.

Griffiths is a taxation survey and only includes the primary householder for each property.
