« on: Thursday 24 February 05 01:07 GMT (UK) »
Hi

could anyone point me in the direction of where to look for my great grandad Thomas Callaghan's birth, he was born in Uggool Village c1872 his father MArtin Callaghan was a farmer but had died by the time Thomas was married in 1898 in Haslingden,Lancashire. I believe he also had a younger brother named Anthony but that's as far as i can get ???

Hiya,
Dont know if theres a link but i have a list of Uggool baptisms that include some Callaghans. Do you want me to send them to you off list? Mine are the O'Donnell/Regans.

I have Thomas Callaghan, b. Mayo 1817, son of Darby Callaghan and Mary Sweeny.  Might you have church records for either of these Callaghans. Thanks

Betty

This is the first time I have used this site and I am thrilled to find this entry as I am looking for a Thomas Callaghan in 'Egool'. He was my Gt Gt grandfather- my Gt grandfather Michael moved to Lancashire and my grandmother Mary was born in Wigan.

Can you advise me if I can get in touch with Xavtia and skaville who corresponded on this topic

Hello and welcome to rootschat- how good that you have found something already and I hope that you can sort it out.
If you click on the names of skaville and xavtia, you will get their personal profile. Scroll down and you can see 'send this person a personal message'. Another screen comes up and you can write your message. It is exactly what it says, a personal way of communicating with them.
They may of course just read this and reply to you but the pm way is best in these circumstances.
best wishes
heywood
