Mutiple names on birth certs
« on: Thursday 04 June 09 11:13 BST (UK) »
Hi I am a newbie :)
Just wondering why as I have come across births which are all the same person and yet have say 2 or more names! I assume the person may no have been married so assume the maiden name and maybe a previous marrige ?
but on one there was 4 !! any ideas as to why they would register 4 different surnames? By the way 1 was a double barrel name so assume thats essy as mums maiden name and then maybe a partners? or the childs dad?

Can be because the mother was married before and will have her names as in ,maiden and then her married name and also maybe the new name from the second marriage? the only sure way is to send for the certificate and that way you will see the full transciption and mothers maiden name and name of father .
