Agreed, the addendum would have been made when the entries were collated I think. What town was it in, at that time many had railway wagon builders?

I would say that is fairly conclusive unless you want to try to get his employment records which may still exist in a local archive.

The added part is Roly Wagon... I have come across this before, on a census record, but the one I was viewing said Roly Wagon Driver ;D

Can't make roly out of this entry; still sure it's railway as rly is a standard recognised abbreviation for railway.What is a roly wagon though?
