Land Records & Maps
Townlands, Parishes, etc.
Counties are made up of parishes and parishes are made up of a group of townlands. If you are doing any research in Ireland these divisions become extremely important.

People & Families

Although most of the Waldron families in Ireland have long-established roots in the general Ballyhaunis area, there are families with the Waldron surname elsewhere in Ireland. The name has been in the country for the past four hundred years. "The exact origins of the Waldrons of Connacht is unclear: the general local opinion is that they were a branch of the Norman MacCostello family; but, their descent from a Waldron family of more recent English origin can not be ruled out."  www.waldronireland.com/association.html
