New cheshire directories expected this year
« on: Monday 15 June 09 18:59 BST (UK) »
A couple of weeks ago sent an email to the Cheshire archive i made an inquiry asking about the directories.

Subject: Re:Cheshire directories.
My email
The website is brilliant and so clear,Can you tell me if any more will be added. As far as I know for some reason there are very few  earlier ones 1800's just Cheshire, available to the public what there is they have big gaps.

Todays reply
Mrs Saunders
Thank you for your inquiry and your kind comments.  We currently have three more directories away being scanned.

They are:
                1789 Cowdroy
                1864 Morris
                1883 Slater.

I am unfortunately unable to give a precise date when they will be available, but I would hope for sometime later this year.  A case of "Watch this space", I think!

Best wishes,

I thought it was nice of them to reply to my email so soon.Considering they had mentioned earlier that they were reorganizing the department,or something like that.I dought very much if the Cowdroy 1789 will have our little bit of wirral in it,I think it still bogland then ;D ;D Most of the big houses were not built till late 1800.It will interesting to find out if it is the book or not :-\
