Hi Chris, I've just joined this page and searched James Shaw and saw this thread. Was Elizabeth Shaw, nee Dunlop? and did they leave Ireland for New Zealand? If this is the same ones then they are my Great Grandparents.

Hi Neil,
I do not know if Elizabeth's maiden name was Dunlop, or whether they moved to new Zealand, but I  do know that Elizabeth was born around 1790, which means they couldn't be your great grandparents. They would have to be at least your 2x great grandparents. They are my 3x great grandparents.
