Sounds like Scotland or Ireland. Any other entries on the page that might give a clue? From the list on your profile, I guess it's Scotland.

Ah, yes . . . I was struggling with that first letter. Now I can see it is a "K", written with a flourish

Hi all,

Sorry, I should have said that this is taken from OPR from Stoneykirk, which is in Dumfries and Galloway. I just couldn't recognise the place name. I had the first letter as possibly a fancy P, didn't see it as a K but now you mention it... I searched for Kirklauchlane and its mentioned along with Stoneykirk so def the right area, but I cant locate Kirklauchlane yet.

According to the Ordinance Survey map I am looking at. The area is north west of Cairngarroch. There is a Kirklauchlane, a Kirklauchline  and a Kirklauchlan all  in the same area. How confusing is that?

Thanks Barbara,

   I was scouring the area on gglearth for Kirklauchlane without any luck but it has shown me Kirklauchline now. Not too far away maybe take a wee trip down now I know where I'm going.
