Ann Collins & John Handley, Bromyard
« on: Saturday 20 June 09 16:18 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone

I am trying to discover the parents of Ann Collins who married John Handley [b c 1799] on 14th Feb 1822 in Bromyard.

Ann died young, as in the 1841 census John and their children [the youngest is 3] are with his mother, Elizabeth?  aged 62 who married William Handley.

I wondered if anyone could help with any information

Thank you

Wendy ;)

Hi jacquelineve

The witnesses were James Collins and Mary Handley.

John Handley had a sister Mary.

I was wondering if James is a brother.

Hi kaz1056
His children were Mary, my ancestor, b 1824 and John b 1825 then Ann died in 1827 aged about 24.

He had a brother b 1811 d 1869.

wendy :)

Worth having a look because as Jacque points out both families are here in Bromyard including John Handley born 1799 son of William and Elizabeth.

Hi

My John was the son of the said William Handley/Handly and Elizabeth nee Brown. [I have 11 children born to William & Elizabeth & I have infromation that they may have married in Worcester].
I meant to put he had a brother James Handley b 1811.
The Handleys are still quite prominent in Bromyard.

I am looking for my John's wife Anne Collins family and she may have had a brother James Collins as mentioned above on the wedding certificate.
