Syme
« on: Sunday 28 June 09 10:04 BST (UK) »
Are there any decendants of the Syme family here?

I've gotten as far back as William Syme (b. approx 1749) and Agnes Nucle (b. approx 1760).

One of the less common family names seems to be Mungo Syme, although there appears to be quite a few of them within the family.

there has been some interest in the symes before. if you go to search at top of page and put in syme and tick fife only you can see if any threads are of interest.

sorry put fife instead of clack - both might be of interest though.

A Mungo Syme and wife lived in Sauchie, Clackmannanshire.  I'm sure they had a son also called Mungo.  This would have been in the 1960's.

There was a Mungo Syme who worked at Dollar Mine in the late 1960`s,just before the mine closed, but I am not sure if he had a son of the same name.
