Fathers Occupation ? (Completed)
« on: Tuesday 30 June 09 23:08 BST (UK) »
??? I thought " Soldier ". But, as my eyes settled, the 'S' doesn't look so right any more. Then it all just sort of fell apart! I have everything ese on there. Just James' occupation, please?

Showing the entire thing, so ye can compare as much of the script as possible:

GAITES (Alverstoke / Bath Pre 1850)
CURTIS (Portsmouth & 1800's Berkshire).
BURGE (Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire)
HUNTLEY (Dorset, Hampshire, Sussex, 'Surroundings')

We are all agreed, it's soldier.

Look at the way S is written in Spinster

It's actually the way Spinster and Smith (the witness) each lack the curled forward and joined tail that made me start doubting myself. I'm probably just fried!  ;)

Ok, folks. Thanks for ye help and reassurance  :)

Lin; Good thinking. Thanks again. I'll just need to dig up some more jin on 'Slippery Bill' first. Like; Find his first wife and refine the ages we're talking here.

Right now though? Relaxing and getting some decent kip seems a fair option too!  ;)

Cheers, all. I'll call this one " Completed ".
