Mmmm   :-\

In 1881 George is married to Mary.

Marriage :  George Jones Chester  Q3. 1878 Rochdale  Mary Stott

Mary Jones Chester death,  age 40  Rochdale  Q1. 1887

But at the moment I can't see a second marriage for George Jones Chester,  to Eliza   :-\

Florence and Val's birth on Lancashire BMD do not have mothers maiden name shown  :-\

I would be 99.9% certain that Frank was Eliza's son, not George's.

It might be necessary to get either Florence or Val's birth certificate to find Eliza's maiden name and thus Frank's birth.

you are right, another thread I started crosses this one and it turns out that Eliza Jane nee brierley was a neighbour of the George and Mary in 1881. Living in Peel street she was recorded as unmarried but frank was a grandson i year old. They married presumably after Mary died.

what a small world it still was ;-)

There is a big age gap between Frank and Florence   :-\

Do you have George and Eliza's marriage ?  He might be hers  :-\
george and Eliza marriage is 1887  just 9 years after his first to Mary Stott  "CHESTER   George Jones   BRIERLEY   Eliza Jane   Falinge, St Edmund   Rochdale"
