Thank you so much for your help.

So the best thing to do is order it through the GRO and hopefully it will have the right father's name on it.

Would I just use the info that has been given to me to order it.

Yes,
When you order from the GRO one option will be for 'Overseas Birth' and you add the year of birth and click the button that says you know the ref. The next page will be your info, the next page will be the one where you write the name of you ancestor, and anything else you know - pate the reference in there too. They dig around to find the right record. They haven't let me down yet!
cheers

For all who are interested, i had this reply today that seems to indicate the individual churches still hold their own records. Will follow up with the archives at some point to see if they can put me in touch with the churches.

"Dear Matt,
I believe the King's Chapel holds its own records as does the Holy Trinity
Cathedral. Both are Anglican churches. The Cathedral of St. Mary the Crowned
holds mainly Catholic records.
The Gibraltar Government Archives can be reached on (+350) 200 79461
All the best with your research."

I have a Thomas F. Cooper married to a Claudina with a daughter.
Both Claudina and the daughter, Daisy b 1893, were born in Gibraltar. Ref Census RG13, 1021,  f 82;  p 30.
I am trying to find Claudina's maiden name. Have been unable to find any info for Gibraltar. The Census indicates that Thomas was a military man. Any help please?
