Bapt Jenny KING St Andrew's Plymouth C1796
« on: Saturday 11 July 09 14:13 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find a baptism for Jenny King born c1796 and/or Robert Langmead c1779 in Plymouth possibly St Andrew's.Census returns say Jenny was born St Andrew's unforunatelly Robert died before 1841 so i am guessing he was local.Their 3 children were baptised at st Andrew's in 1828,31,34 so i'm hoping this is their parish.
many thanks Andy

A Jane KING (often Janes were known as Jenny) was baptised at Plymouth St Andrew 24 Sep 1792, dau of John & Jane.
A John KING married Jane WELLINGTON 3 Aug 1788, also at Plymouth St Andrew.
No Robert LANGMEAD baptised there though. If you look at the full transcript of their marriage, it may give a parish of origin for him. The Devon Record Office can supply this. Interesting that the marriage took place at Stoke Gabriel, is it possible that Robert was from there?
Two Robert LANGMEAD burials took place at Plymouth St Andrew:
9 Jan 1832, aged 72 P (pauper)
5 Feb 1837 aged 58

Many thanks for that,i think they got married at stoke Gabriel as Jenny was already pregnant but it is an avenue to look at.
I've been working on the theory that the 1837 death was my Robert as Jenny remarried in the late 1830's to Henry March (not that i've found marriage)

there was a previous post about this family and I did say that there was a document in the DRO for a removal of A robert Langmead  from St Andrew to Blackawton.

Blackawton baptisms show that a Robert LANGMEAD was baptised there 21 Jan 1784, son of Robert & Agnes. An Agnes LANGMEAD was buried at Plymouth St Andrew 13 Feb 1825, aged 63. I would suggest contacting Ray Osborn who has the marriages for the parish for further details.
