Map sent in Word Pad
« on: Tuesday 14 July 09 08:52 BST (UK) »
Hi,
A contact has just sent me a map in Word Pad format.  I want to save and enlarge it as it too small for my poor old eyes!

How do I do this?  Suggestions welcome,
Thank you,
Abiam

Well, I have a technique that I use in Word, which you may need to use to solve this, although someone more knowledgeable in this area may be able to offer a simpler solution.

Word has the facility to save a document as a web page.  When you do this, Word creates an HTML document which creates the page, and it also creates a folder which contains the images used on the page.  This folder should contain the map image, which you can then resize using an image editor like Irfan View.

The map is probably an embedded image file in WordPad. Try 'Right-Click/Copy' on the map and you should then be able to paste it into an image editor and modify as Nick suggests.
