Hi All,
It seems we may have a partial solution to this mystery. My contact Christine, has found a death record:

Henry Adams [m] of Oakbank
died 12/9/1950 aged 56years
Adelaide Hospital
book 759 page 5039

Seems he went to S.A.

Thanks for your help.

Tracey.

It will be nice to see what inforattion is on the certificate. I hope you decide to purchase it to see if this is really your Henry Adams.

It will be nice to see what inforattion is on the certificate. I hope you decide to purchase it to see if this is really your Henry Adams.

The SA death certificates are very poor on identifying information- no names of spouses, children etc and if there are no relative names on the index there will be only the following information, if known to the informant.

1908-1947
    * Date and Place of Death
    * Name
    * Sex
    * Age
    * Occupation
    * Usual Residence
    * Birthplace
    * Length of Residence in Commonwealth
    * Age at Marriage
    * Number of Issue Living and Deceased
    * Cause of Death
    * Place of Death
    * Informant

1948-1967
As for 1908-1947 with the addition of
    * Place of Burial

If you are keen to purchase then a transcription service is offered by the South Australian Genealogy and Heraldry Society.  It is actually a transcription from the district registers not the death certificate itself.

Thanks for that info. I will pass it on to Christine and see what she wants to do. He practically dropped off the face of the earth when he came to Australia, so I would think any information is more than what she currently has.
Tracey.

Hi Tracey

This may be a long shot since this thread was last updated 9 years ago, but having just gone on one of my random searchings by surname in my tree, I came across your thread.

I am a descendant of Henry Adam's grandfather Robert Ormes (c.1843-1922).

If you're still researching this, let me know, maybe we can pool resources. It'd be great to hear from you (and your contact Christine).

Thanks,
Hannah

Hi Hannah,
Thanks for getting in touch. It took me a while to find Christine's email address, as I haven't had any contact with her since 2011, but I found it. I'll contact her and ask her if it's ok for me to pass it on to you. It's been so long since I've been on this website I forget if it's possible to send a private message. If possible, can you send me one, maybe with your email address and I can pass it on?
Thanks,
Tracey.
