Hello Yvonne,

I couldn't find anything in 1861 last night but will have another look this evening.

I think we are looking for a re-marriage for Christina Valliant to William Everard.

Who did Pauline Amelia marry in 1879, and can you post the 1881 census reference?

Regards,
John

Hello John

Many thanks for your quick reply, that is certainly interesting ? re-marriage
is that why I have been unable to find anything out ???

The 1881 census  is RG11 Piece 0545 / 5 Page number 3
as you will see the spelling of Pauline is totally different

As you see she married Arthur Albert Pointer 2nd June 1879 they both resided at 9 Elstead Street. All Saints Church Newington

The marriage certificate although not a good copy states Robert Poynter was a compositor and deceased
George Valliant was also deceased and shows him as a horsedealer.

He too has been a bit of a mystery, I did get a George Valliants death certificate  who died 6th January 1864 living at 11 William Street Star Corner Bermondsey, it states he was 44  a Tanner  ( journeyman ) and the person present at his death was Ann Valiant (different  spelling) so I presumed that was his wife, I may have been on the wrong track with that one, maybe she just registered the death ??????

I hope that I have given the information you were looking for

Look forward to hearing from you

All the best

Yvonne

Hello Yvonne,

I'm afraid I've drawn a complete blank on these people prior to 1871. There's a gap in the 1861 census districts - district 44 - but I don't know if its intentional or not. The annoying thing is its in the right area for Park Row in St Peter Walworth.

Have you found Arthur and Pauline after 1881?

I'll come back to you if I have an inspiration!

Regards,
John

Hi, I'm the grandson of Sarah Ann Everard in the Everard Richards family you are referring to in this thread. Youngest child of Youngest child and yes, I am that old.
Pauline Amelia is in there 1861 Census as just Amelia. You will also find Maud Pointer n the 1911 Census for James Quinton and Sarah Ann his wife though at their 1884 marriage, for some reason, she gave her father's name as William Richards, instead of Everard. There's a long story to go with that but doesn't effect anything you are looking at.  Some of William and Christian's children are difficult to trace records for and so Birth records are missing. Others are documented but I have not ordered all the birth records from GRO, that gets expensive.
Christian Everard Widow was with Sarah Ann and James in 1891 as Visitor.
I cannot find marriages for Christian[a] with either Edward Everard or George Valliant (or variants) but I have sufficient DNA matches with earlier Richards and Everards to be pretty confdent about what I have found.

Hope this helps.

Mick
