1851 CENSUS LOOK UP JOHN PACEY

Could someone please have a look in the 1851 census for a John Pacey, born Bilborough about 1820. In later censuses he was a miner living in the Greasley area. He was married to Ellen in the 1861 census but from the ages of the children I think he was married before.

Well there is a John pacey born Strelley, which is the next village (or was then) to Bilborough.

Mother's Name: Ann abt 1794

Where born: Strelley, Nottinghamshire, England
 
Also Mary his sister born abt 1827

Sorry but I'm not sure that that is the one I want!!!!
In 1861 I have John Pacey and wife Ellen, with a daughter Mary Ann aged 16 and 2 younger children, Emanuel and John, 2 years and 1 month respectively. Mary Ann should be around in 1851, and the big age gap made me think that Ellen was his second wife and Mary Ann a daughter of his first marriage. But then I suppose that Mary Ann could be Ellen's daughter, but given the Pacey name in the census!!!!

Hi Eric, in 1881 John Pacey is still with Ellen living in Kimberley at Kimberley Yard, but now gives place of birth as Bilborough. It's the only one I can find as well.
Kimberley Yard was I believe on the hill leading to Swingate. Greasley is the area/district, not the place they lived.

Hi Eric, in 1901 he is living with his son John at Mill Steret, Basford. Now retired and aged 82, retired miner and gives place of birth as bilborough again.

There's something about this and I'm struggling to put my finger on it because it's so late ?

In 1861 the family are reportedly lodging with a Mary Brentnall, yet in 1871 Mary is living with them and listed as John's mother-in-law.

I think this is the marriage of John and Ellen:

Shows Mary Brentnall again, this time with her husband John, living with a grand-daughter indexed as Mary Ann Pinkney, unless I'm mistaken I believe her surname to be Pickering and her age 5.    

I'm wondering whether Mary Ann could be the daughter of Ellen and not John Pacey ?

I'll look at this again tomorrow to see if I'm making sense !

There aren't any Brentnall/Pickering marriages that I can find on FreeBMD, during this time scale. Although in 1841, a family, by the name of Pickering appear to be living in the same property as John and Mary Brentnall.

Again the Brentnall connection, this time in 1891, with John's birthplace
listed as Strelley, which, apart from the age .. would fit in with the one
Skewy found earlier !
