There is also an element of leather work involved in making a piano - leather covered hammers?

Whilst I was musing about this thread yesterday, I wondered about leather seated piano stools?

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe she was working with that special spanish leather to make decorative inlays or stool seats?

Yes - my thoughts also, Mireille.  A skilled leather worker using fine Spanish Cordovan leather for the stool seats might be described as a Corvisor perhaps  ???

I think the second word looks like 'loomwirer', but I still can't make out the first.  It could be Lady loomwirer.

The 'm' looks like the 'm' in 'Walthamstow' and the two 'o' look like those in 'school girl', that is, they look like the letter 'e'.

I agree that the first part of the second word looks like "loom", but am doubtful about the "wirer" part. There aren't enough "arches" for an "m" and a "w".

Also, the letter after the "i" doesn't look like an "r" -  there are several instances of "ir" in "girl" and "iron" elsewhere.
