Grave Hunting
« on: Monday 28 February 05 15:59 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the burial place of John David Thomas Humphreys,d.4th October,1930,aged 60yrs.He was a Baptist Minister and his obituary in the Baptist Handbook of 1931 says he was laid to rest in Dolau Cemetery.I have visited the small Baptist Chapel at Dolau,Llanfihangel Rhydithon, where he was actually married, but cannot find the grave there.I am also told that his name does not appear on the M.I's. for Dolau Baptist Chapel,Nantmel. Is there anyone out there who can help...please.

Dear Llwyd,

I had the same problem looking for my ancestor William Bufton who lived at Nantmel, it might be worth checking St Cynllo's, which is Nantmel Parish Church.   I thought that William was also buried at Dolau Chapel, but he actually was buried at St Cynllo's.   Powys County Archives might have burial indexes, or possibly Powys FHS.   Hope this helps,
Regards
Chris
