hi,is peddie st part of dundee now.as ive got my g,grandparents on the 1881 census saying...HORATIO WEIR ,88 peddie st, liff & benvie,forfarshire.
ive looked on multimap and its in dundee,is this the same street.

         is anyone researching weir in this area...thanks

think you have found it - between blackness rd and hawkhill

found it on an 1872 map of dundee not far from the liff and benvie poorhouse
centre map -
if you can find section LIV 9.7 top edge to the left of annfield road
the top of peddie street is on section LIV 9.2 bottom left hand corner

This is Blackness Road and Peddie Street (on the left of picture} just running off Blackness Road to the Hawkhill.

Hi Rawlinson,
the address your looking for is at the very top of the street of photo above :)
number 88 is an upholstry shop ,so whether it was a flat at one time ,and maybe they converted it to a shop ?...as you can see on photo there are flats above the other shops 2 streets down .,
